Scholtz & Friends soo Amazing

A couple days ago we went to Scholz & Friends which is an international Advertising Agency. I think I speak of everyone when I say that I was already impressed by the building Scholz & Friends were in. I think it's a great working environment because the building consists of glass which gives every office a very good lighting situation. It also seemed very welcoming and friendly.

We had a presentation about the strategic concept of Scholz & Friends and it was very interesting how they approach every job they get. They built an orchestra of ideas which is different for every client. It gives you an idea where the Ads should be placed and if PR or Gorilla advertising should be used rather than bought advertising. In addition, they try to work with a low budget and as efficient as possible. We also got to see some examples of their work. There was an advertisement for Germany during the Soccer World Cup in 2006. They wanted to show that Germany changed since the wars. So, they posted big objects in the downtown areas of big cities where soccer matches took place. Giant soccer shoes, the E=mc2 and more ensured free advertising through PR. People took pictures and posted it in blogs or newspapers talked about it. I think it's crazy to see how it works without actually buying Ad time. I think we should definitely think about ways like that to advertise products.

Later on we got 25 minutes to develop our own campaign for the European Parliament elections which are coming up in June 2009. We got together in groups of 5 and tried to figure out a great concept, so we could make people aware of the importance of voting. Since the European Parliament tries to reach 27 countries with the same message which is "to vote," it wasn't that easy to develop a concept in 25 minutes. We also had to think about the 25 different languages which were involved. Every team had to present their campaign afterwards and I was very impressed about the great campaigns everybody had. It was so much fun and I think everybody enjoyed it a lot.

After our presentations we got some feedback and it was great to hear that everybody did really well. However, yeah nothing to Scholz & Friend's campaign which was just Aaaamazing. They had great ideas and made even little film clips which were especially aimed at a younger target audience. They also used again giant displays of their ad campaign which gave them again free PR. Their concept is so well structured and he talked about it with so much passion. It gives you the feeling " Oh yeah I want to do something like that too!" and that’s just so great.
